This course walks you through your first Kubernetes project, in which you help a fictional company, Explore California, move their static website, currently running in AWS on virtual machines, into containers through Kubernetes. Instructor Carlos Nunez explores the core concepts of what makes Kubernetes tick: containers, the scheduler, the API server, the controller manager, and kube-proxy. Next, he shows you how to containerize the Explore California site and use Make to automate starting the website with Docker. Carlos steps through using Helm, one of the world's most popular packaging tools for Kubernetes, to author a "Helm chart" that deploys Explore California onto a local Kubernetes cluster provisioned with Kind, an instance of Kubernetes on top of Docker. Finally, he deploys Explore California into AWS Elastic Kubernetes Service (a traditional managed Kubernetes offering) and AWS Elastic Container Registry (a "private" alternative to Docker Hub).

Numbers and figures and statistics are, quite simply, great. Having data to support your point is a key factor of any presentation, debate, or prediction. One thing numbers are not, however, is visually striking. If they were, no one would have invented infographics. Today, infographics are everywhere, and if you're not using them, you're missing out on a great opportunity to engage your audience and keep their interest and attention. In this hands-on course, Nigel French shows you how to use Adobe Illustrator to plan, design, and share an infographic for both print and screen. Nigel explains how to assemble an infographic piece by piece, and shows that with methodical planning and an efficient workflow, you can create a sparkling infographic in no time.

In recent years, organizations have faced an unprecedented amount of talent loss. While there are numerous external forces that may cause employees to leave a company-opportunities for advancement, more flexible schedules, better pay-you also need to look at the possibility that biased practices in your organization are pushing employees to leave. In this course, Jodi-Ann Burey shows how an approach rooted in diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) best practices can help your company leverage inclusion practices to get at the business of truly caring for employees, provide an equitable workplace for all, and retain your valuable workforce. She shows you ways to think more systematically about why people quit, not just any organization, but your organization specifically. As Jodi-Ann explains, a revolving door of talent is costly, not just in time and money, but in credibility, as it makes it difficult to maintain commitments to retain a diverse workforce.
