By far one of the sweetest sounding and most influential analog synths we've had the privilege to work with, an iconic and powerful instrument whose lineage helped shape the sound of music and music for film throughout the '80s and beyond. Developed as the first fully-programmable polyphonic synthesizer with preset storage, this version 10 was the original prototype of what would become the mythical version 5, debuting in 1978 and revolutionizing the synthesizer world. It was only 3 years later, in 1981, that the more complex version 10 would see commercial release.

The Ensoniq ESQ-1 is a special keyboard at UVI. Used by many on our team, including being a personal favorite of one of our founders, our USQ-1 had to be great. We've leveraged years of experience with this synth and put our hearts into creating a collection of sounds that we're proud of and that we're sure you'll enjoy.

INSPIRED BY THE TOP OF 70'S TECHNOLOGY

In 1985 the world was introduced to the Japanese 12-voice analog synthesizer with 24 oscillators par excellence and the last truly analog synthesizer in its line. Due to the meager aesthetics, the lack of knobs made the system a bit tricky to program, but an external controller could be plugged in, merrily reuniting synthesizers with the spontaneity and fast programming speed of its always popular siblings. This synthesizer is known for its huge and powerful analog sound, even with some digital textures; it's just a great car. Programming possibilities were equally rich, including independent control of 2 DCOs per voice, 2 EGs, 2 VCFs, a built-in chorus, and even a sequencer (albeit limited).

It's impossible to accurately reproduce the scratches without a turntable, but we're getting pretty close to the Scratch Machine. Grab a keyboard or pad controller, load up on classic sounds like Fresh or Speak'n'Spell, and go crazy! All sounds have been recorded directly from the deck, expertly supervised by our turntable resident and scratch-off artist DJ Quartz, delivering authentic vinyl sound in a truly expressive and immersive instrument.
