E-BooksBlack Silicon Formation, Properties, and Application

Black Silicon Formation, Properties, and Application
Free Download Black Silicon: Formation, Properties, and Application
English | 2024 | ISBN: 3031486862 | 193 Pages | PDF (True) | 8 MB
The book systematically accounts for the scientific and technological problems of nanostructured silicon in the form of porous and black silicon. Nanostructured silicon is currently a pioneer research topic worldwide due to its enormous potential applications for modern electronic devices, such as sensitive photodetectors, solar cells, biochemical sensors, hydrogen generators, and display devices. The main structural modifications of this nanomaterial are porous and black silicon. Porous silicon addresses crystalline silicon with nanopores and black silicon with nanoneedles. Historically, porous silicon is thought to be a kind of precursor to black silicon. The formation, research, and application of nanostructured silicon remains the main cornerstone of nanotechnologies, and this book is useful for a wide range of researchers in the fields of semiconductor physics, micro-, and nanoelectronics.

Free Download Scale Formation in Heat Exchangers by Mohammad Varnaseri , Seyed Mohsen Peyghambarzadeh
English | PDF EPUB (True) | 2024 | 131 Pages | ISBN : 3031527038 | 25.5 MB
This book brings together a wide range of current research to create a holistic understanding of fouling. It draws upon practical and laboratory experiences spanning many years. While offering an overview of various fouling types, the book's emphasis is on crystallization fouling, a facet seldom addressed in the existing literature. Furthermore, this book goes beyond theory by providing practical examples for heat exchanger design, incorporating the pivotal consideration of fouling's impact. It focuses especially on calcium salts such as calcium carbonate and calcium sulfate.

E-BooksRobust Sliding Mode Protocols for Formation of Quadcopter Swarm

Robust Sliding Mode Protocols for Formation of Quadcopter Swarm
Free Download Robust Sliding Mode Protocols for Formation of Quadcopter Swarm by Axaykumar Mehta , Akash Modi
English | PDF EPUB (True) | 2024 | 165 Pages | ISBN : 9819997259 | 35.2 MB
This book presents several robust sliding mode protocols for achieving the formation and tracking of Quadcopter swarm for a given pattern. In entire book, the concept of leader-follower formation control of a multi-agent system is exploited for deriving the protocols and the graph theory is used to represent the communication between the Quadcopters. The book covers two types of formation protocols of the Quadcopter swarm namely, continuous-time sliding mode protocols and discrete-time sliding mode protocols. First, the continuous-time higher order sliding mode protocols using super-twisting algorithm are designed for formation using linear and non-linear models of Quadcopter. Then, the discrete-time sliding mode protocols using power rate reaching law, discrete-time super twisting algorithm, and exponential reaching law are presented. The protocols are thoroughly analysed for robustness, chattering, control effort, and convergence time for achieving the formation. Also, the stability conditions using the Lyapunov function are derived to ensure the stability of the swarm with each protocol. Further, each chapter includes extensive simulation and comparative studies to show the efficacy of each protocol. The book will be useful to graduate students, research scholars, and professionals working in the domain of civilian and military usage of the drone technology.

Mathematical Models for Biological Pattern Formation
Free Download Mathematical Models for Biological Pattern Formation by Philip K. Maini, Hans G. Othmer
English | PDF | 2001 | 327 Pages | ISBN : 0387951032 | 32.2 MB
This 121st IMA volume, entitled MATHEMATICAL MODELS FOR BIOLOGICAL PATTERN FORMATION is the first of a new series called FRONTIERS IN APPLICATION OF MATHEMATICS. The FRONTIERS volumes are motivated by IMA pro grams and workshops, but are specially planned and written to provide an entree to and assessment of exciting new areas for the application of mathematical tools and analysis. The emphasis in FRONTIERS volumes is on surveys, exposition and outlook, to attract more mathematicians and other scientists to the study of these areas and to focus efforts on the most important issues, rather than papers on the most recent research results aimed at an audience of specialists.

E-BooksMalaysia's State Formation

Malaysia's State Formation
Free Download Abdillah Noh, "Malaysia's State Formation "
English | ISBN: 1032340959 | 2024 | 242 pages | EPUB | 1201 KB
This book comes up with the Contested Leviathan Framework to describe the essence of Malaysia's political economy. The framework is developed from tracing Malaysia's political economy over approximately 157 years (1800-1957) and tested against the many issues confronting post-colonial Malaysia. Using concepts of timing, sequence, path dependence and increasing returns the book explains that Malaysia's political economy is the result of deep institutional processes, not a contrived act that was hatched at the point of independence. The book explains that whilst British administration made short-term rational choices, it failed to take into consideration the path-dependent nature of policy choices and their long-term unintended consequences that preserved Malaysia's terms of reference and produced autonomous communities with mutually exclusive political, economic and social institutions. These institutional qualities made it imperative for actors, at some point, to embark on some form of power-sharing arrangement. Applying the Contested Leviathan Framework the book explains that recent events - the first electoral turnover in 2018 and the formation of a unity government in 2022 - have done little to dismantle the character of Malaysia's political economy; a state that still sees political, economic and social life along ethnic imperatives driven by mutually exclusive institutions and interests.

Word–Formation An International Handbook of the Languages of Europe
Free Download Peter O. Müller, Ingeborg Ohnheiser, Susan Olsen, "Word-Formation: An International Handbook of the Languages of Europe"
English | 2015 | ISBN: 3110375664 | PDF | pages: 838 | 7.0 mb
This handbook comprises an in-depth presentation of the state of the art in word-formation. The five volumes contain 207 articles written by leading international scholars. The XVI chapters of the handbook provide the reader, in both general articles and individual studies, with a wide variety of perspectives: word-formation as a linguistic discipline (history of science, theoretical concepts), units and processes in word-formation, rules and restrictions, semantics and pragmatics, foreign word-formation, language planning and purism, historical word-formation, word-formation in language acquisition and aphasia, word-formation and language use, tools in word-formation research. The final chapter comprises 74 portraits of word-formation in the individual languages of Europe and offers an innovative perspective. These portraits afford the first overview of this kind and will prove useful for future typological research. This handbook will provide an essential reference for both advanced students and researchers in word-formation and related fields within linguistics.

Northeast India has witnessed several nationality movements during the 20th century. The oldest and one of the most formidable has been that of the Nagas ― inhabiting the hill tracts between the Brahmaputra river in India and the Chindwin river in Burma (now Myanmar). Rallying behind the slogan, 'Nagaland for Christ', this movement has been the site of an ambiguous relation between a particular understanding of Christianity and nation-making.
