This course was created for parents and caregivers of children with developmental delays, ages birth to three years old.Children typically b more in depth exploration of toys between the ages of 12-18 months. Functional play is a powerful tool for the development of the following skills; Social Skills, Problem Solving Skills, Cognitive Skills, and Language and Communication Skills. Functional Play skills are not often discussed in the context of speech-language therapy. This course aims to change that by highlighting the importance of functional play skills. In this course, I answer the following questions that many parents have asked me, once they become receptive to learning more about functional play:1.
