Upon returning to New Selene, Wander Locke is hailed as a celebrity by the First Division. Wander feels unworthy of his new status, due to the events that transpired on Epsilon. His chance at redemption arrives in the form of a mission request from President Frost. She asks him to venture to an unexplored planet and rescue a soldier who was captured by powerful and mysterious robots. Wander embarks with the fallen soldier's leader, but soon discovers that the mission is far more complicated than it seems. What starts as a simple quest evolves into Wander's greatest challenge as the line between friends and enemies blurs, and the odds continue to stack against him.
