A unified and systematic theoretical framework for solving problems related to finite impulse response (FIR) estimate
Optimal and Robust State Estimation: Finite Impulse Response (FIR) and Kalman Approaches is a comprehensive investigation into batch state estimators and recursive forms. The work begins by introducing the reader to the state estimation approach and provides a brief historical overview. Next, the work discusses the specific properties of finite impulse response (FIR) state estimators. Further chapters give the basics of probability and stochastic processes, discuss the available linear and nonlinear state estimators, deal with optimal FIR filtering, and consider a limited memory batch and recursive algorithms.

Finite-Dimensional Division Algebras over Fields By Nathan Jacobson (auth.)
1996 | 284 Pages | ISBN: 3540570292 | PDF | 8 MB
Finite-dimensional division algebras over fields determine, by the Wedderburn Theorem, the semi-simple finite-dimensio= nal algebras over a field. They lead to the definition of the Brauer group and to certain geometric objects, the Brau= er-Severi varieties. The book concentrates on those algebras that have an involution. Algebras with involution appear in many contexts;they arose first in the study of the so-called "multiplication algebras of Riemann matrices". The largest part of the book is the fifth chapter, dealing with involu= torial simple algebras of finite dimension over a field. Of particular interest are the Jordan algebras determined by these algebras with involution;their structure is discussed. Two important concepts of these algebras with involution are the universal enveloping algebras and the reduced norm.Corrections of the 1st edition (1996) carried out on behalf of N. Jacobson (deceased) by Prof. P.M. Cohn (UC London, UK).

Finite Volume Methods for the Incompressible Navier-Stokes Equations by Jian Li
English | EPUB | 2022 | 129 Pages | ISBN : 3030946355 | 10.4 MB
The book aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the most recent developments in finite volume methods. Its focus is on the development and analysis of these methods for the two- and three-dimensional Navier-Stokes equations, supported by extensive numerical results. It covers the most used lower-order finite element pairs, with well-posedness and optimal analysis for these finite volume methods.

This volume gives an up-to-date review of the subject Integration in Finite Terms. The book collects four significant texts together with an extensive bibliography and commentaries discussing these works and their impact. These texts, either out of print or never published before, are fundamental to the subject of the book. Applications in combinatorics and physics have aroused a renewed interest in this well-developed area devoted to finding solutions of differential equations and, in particular, antiderivatives, expressible in terms of classes of elementary and special functions.
