E-BooksCritical Care A Problem–Based Learning Approach

Critical Care A Problem–Based Learning Approach
Free Download Taylor Johnston, "Critical Care: A Problem-Based Learning Approach "
English | ISBN: 0190885939 | 2022 | 320 pages | PDF | 30 MB
Critical Care: A Problem-Based Learning Approach provides a comprehensive review of the dynamic and ever-changing field of critical care. Its problem-based format incorporates a vast pool of practical, ABA board-exam-style multiple-choice questions for self-assessment, and is an ideal resource for exam preparation as well as ongoing clinical education among trainees and clinicians. Each of its 35 case-based chapters is accompanied by questions and answers, accessible online in a full practice exam. The cases presented are unique, as each chapter begins with a case description, usually a compilation of several actual cases; it then branches out through case-based questions, to increasingly complex situations. This structure is designed to create an authentic experience that mirrors that of working through the nuances of a complicated clinical scenario. The discussion sections that follow offer a comprehensive approach to the chapter's subject matter, thus creating a modern, complete, and up-to-date medical review of that topic.

Américo Paredes distinguished himself as a journalist, novelist, short story writer, poet, folklorist, and as Professor of English and Anthropology at the University of Texas at Austin. Admired as one of the inspiring founders of Mexican American Studies in colleges and universities across the United States, Paredes life-long interest in Mexican-American history and culture motivated him during his early years to collect corridos from farmers and villagers living on the Lower Rio Grande, resulting in his pioneering book With His Pistol in His Hand: A Border Ballad and Its Hero (1958), and in other books on folklore, poetry, and narrative fiction. Border Folk Balladeers: Critical Studies on Américo Paredes is a book of significant value to scholars, teachers, students, and to the general reader interested in the history and culture of Mexicans and Mexican Americans born on both sides of the Mexico-US border. E-BooksKant's Critique of the Power of Judgment Critical Essays

Kant's Critique of the Power of Judgment Critical Essays
Free Download Paul Guyer, Nick Zangwill, Christopher Janaway, "Kant's Critique of the Power of Judgment: Critical Essays"
English | 2003 | pages: 282 | ISBN: 0742514196, 0742514188 | PDF | 16,2 mb
Kant's Critique of the Power of Judgment, first published in 1790, was the last of the great philosopher's three critiques, following on the heels of Critique of Pure Reason (1781) and Critique of Practical Reason (1788). In the first two, Kant dealt with metaphysics and morality; in the third, Kant turns to the aesthetic dimension of human experience, showing how our experiences of natural and artistic beauty, the sublime magnitude and might of nature, and of purposive organisms and ecological systems gives us palpable evidece that it is possible for us not only to form moral intentions, but also to realize our freely chosen moral goals within nature as we experience it. The present volume collects twelve of the most important critical discussions on the Critique of the Power of Judgment written by leading Kant scholars and aestheticians from the United States and Great Britain. In addition to a substantive introduction by the editor, the book includes an extensive, annotated bibliography of the most important work on Kant and on the background and arguments of his third Critique published throughout the twentieth century.

E-BooksHegel's Trinitarian Claim A Critical Reflection

Hegel's Trinitarian Claim A Critical Reflection
Free Download Dale M. Schlitt, "Hegel's Trinitarian Claim: A Critical Reflection"
English | 2012 | pages: 404 | ISBN: 1438443757, 1438443749 | PDF | 2,1 mb
Hegel's philosophical interpretation of Trinity as a dialectically developing movement of Spirit is one of the most profound readings of Trinity in Western thought. In Hegel's Trinitarian Claim, Dale M. Schlitt provides a careful, detailed presentation of this claim in Hegel's major published works and in his lectures on the philosophy of religion, taking a critical look at how Hegel presents his claim that to think of God as subject and person one must think of God as Trinity. Although agreeing with Hegel's conclusion, Schlitt argues on the basis of an immanent critique of Hegel's thought that Hegel is not able to defend that claim in the way in which he proposes to do so. Schlitt argues instead that Hegel's trinitarian claim can be justified when Spirit is no longer seen as a movement of thought but as a movement of enriching experience. This close analysis provides an excellent point of entry into the wider study and critical consideration of Hegel's systematic philosophical project as a whole. Originally published in 1984 and available now in paperback for the first time, this edition features a new preface and postscript.
