Optimal Control Problems Related to the Robinson-Solow-Srinivasan Model
English | 2021 | ISBN: 9811622515 | 354 Pages | PDF EPUB | 23 MB
This book is devoted to the study of classes of optimal control problems arising in economic growth theory, related to the Robinson-Solow-Srinivasan (RSS) model. The model was introduced in the 1960s by economists Joan Robinson, Robert Solow, and Thirukodikaval Nilakanta Srinivasan and was further studied by Robinson, Nobuo Okishio, and Joseph Stiglitz. Since then, the study of the RSS model has become an important element of economic dynamics. In this book, two large general classes of optimal control problems, both of them containing the RSS model as a particular case, are presented for study. For these two classes, a turnpike theory is developed and the existence of solutions to the corresponding infinite horizon optimal control problems is established.

E-BooksDigital Control of Dynamic Systems

Digital Control of Dynamic Systems
Digital Control of Dynamic Systems By Gene F. Franklin, J. David Powell, Michael L. Workman
1997 | 850 Pages | ISBN: 0201820544 | PDF | 87 MB
This well-respected, market-leading text discusses the use of digital computers in the real-time control of dynamic systems. The emphasis is on the design of digital controls that achieve good dynamic response and small errors while using signals that are sampled in time and quantized in amplitude. Both classical and modern control methods are described and applied to illustrative examples. The strengths and limitations of each method are explored to help the reader develop solid designs with the least effort.

Modern Control System Lecture Note
Modern Control System Lecture Note by Daniel Abebe
English | July 9, 2021 | ISBN: N/A | ASIN: B0991DBPH9 | 186 pages | EPUB | 0.35 Mb
A control system can be viewed informally as a dynamical object (e.g. expressed by ordinary differential equation) containing a parameter that can be manipulated to influence the behavior of the system to achieve the desired goal. A system is a thing having parts that can be considered as a single entity. The system must be defined clearly with a particular set of relationships that completely characterize the conceivable states of the system. The state of the system describes the condition(status) of the system at any time t ≥ 0 and provides information which (together with the knowledge of the equation describing the system) enables us to calculate/analyze the future behavior of the system under certain control input. In practice it is not possible to get all state variables instead we get controlled variables (outputs) which depend on someway on measured states.

E-BooksThe Psychology of Fatigue Work, Effort and Control

The Psychology of Fatigue Work, Effort and Control
Robert Hockey, "The Psychology of Fatigue: Work, Effort and Control"
English | 2014 | ISBN: 1107477808, 0521762650 | 290 pages | PDF | 2.9 MB
Fatigue can have a major impact on an individual's performance and wellbeing, yet is poorly understood, even within the scientific community. There is no developed theory of its origins or functions, and different types of fatigue (mental, physical, sleepiness) are routinely confused. The widespread interpretation of fatigue as a negative consequence of work may be true only for externally imposed goals; meaningful or self-initiated work is rarely tiring and often invigorating. In the first book dedicated to the systematic treatment of fatigue for over sixty years, Robert Hockey examines its many aspects - social history, neuroscience, energetics, exercise physiology, sleep and clinical implications - and develops a new motivational control theory, in which fatigue is treated as an emotion having a fundamental adaptive role in the management of goals. He then uses this new perspective to explore the role of fatigue in relation to individual motivation, working life and wellbeing.

Communication and Control for Robotic Systems
Communication and Control for Robotic Systems
English | 2022 | ISBN: 9811617767 | 479 Pages | PDF | 20 MB
This book is a collection of high-quality research articles. The book includes topics specific to the emerging areas of control for robotic systems, wireless communication, and development of embedded systems for robotic applications. The book integrates three important aspects of automation, namely (i) communication, (ii) control, and (iii) embedded design for robotic applications. This book is unique as it provides a unified framework for analysis, design, and deployment of the robotic applications across various engineering and non-engineering disciplines including the three primary aspects mentioned above. Furthermore, the emerging research and development work pertaining to the deployment of intelligent, nonlinear, and embedded control for robotic system for non-standard operating environment due to the widespread application of robotics technology for societal benefit is also a focal point of the book.

Encyclopedia of Systems and Control, 2nd Edition
Encyclopedia of Systems and Control
English | 2021 | ISBN: 3030441830 | 2497 Pages | PDF | 67 MB
The Encyclopedia of Systems and Control collects a broad range of short expository articles that describe the current state of the art in the central topics of control and systems engineering as well as in many of the related fields in which control is an enabling technology. The editors have assembled the most comprehensive reference possible, and this has been greatly facilitated by the publisher's commitment to continuously publish updates to the articles as they become available in the future. Although control engineering is now a mature discipline, it remains an area in which there is a great deal of research activity, and as new developments in both theory and applications become available, they will be included in the online version of the encyclopedia. A carefully chosen team of leading authorities in the field has written the well over 300 articles, 50 of them new in the second edition. The topics range from basic principles of feedback in servomechanisms to advanced topics such as the control of Boolean networks and evolutionary game theory and this range has also been expanded to include material on such subjects as the Internet of Things, quantum control and smart grids. Because the content has been selected to reflect both foundational importance and subjects that are of current interest to the research and practitioner communities, a broad readership that includes students, application engineers, and research scientists will find entries that are of interest.
