Clinico Radiological Series Imaging of Chest Infections
Clinico Radiological Series: Imaging of Chest Infections
English | 2019 | ISBN: 9352705025 | 500 Pages | PDF (True) | 73 MB
This book describes the role of imaging in diagnosis as well as image guided interventions at chest infections with reference to latest guidelines. In clinical practice, chest infections are amongst the commonest cause of significant morbidity and at times, mortality. The varied spectrum of such infections range from general population being affected by community acquired pneumonia, to immunocompromised individuals secondary to HIV, solid organ or hematopoietic transplantations being affected by uncommon, opportunistic organisms. This book consists of 6 sections that include general, imaging according to causative organism, imaging according to clinical scenarios, complications of pneumonia, pattern-wise approach to thoracic infections, and reporting formats, which are further divided into 29 chapters. The book tries to cover salient imaging differences between infections and their common non-infectious mimics. The variety of illustrative cases and proposed structured reporting formats for various scenarios are also provided at the end of the book. This book is aimed at practicing radiologists, physicians and pulmonologists managing the patients with chest infections.

E-BooksChest Pain Advanced Assessment and Management Skills

Chest Pain Advanced Assessment and Management Skills
Chest Pain: Advanced Assessment and Management Skills By
2007 | 272 Pages | ISBN: 140514422X | PDF | 6 MB
Chest Pain: Advanced Assessment and Management promotes a systematic approach to the assessment and management of patients presenting with chest pain and related undifferentiated symptoms. Specifically, it equips practitioners with the knowledge and clinical skills needed to effectively differentiate and respond to clinical presentations where the primary symptom for seeking healthcare advice involves chest pain. Introductory chapters in section one explore the principles of physical assessment, history taking and differential diagnosis to provide the framework for subsequent chapters, which explore cardiac and non-cardiac causes of chest pain. Section two examines the advanced assessment and overall management of patients with pain in the chest. A range of clinical conditions that trigger chest pain and other related symptoms are covered, including: angina, acute coronary syndromes, pericarditis and myocarditis, aortic dissection, pulmonary embolism, oesophago-gastric disorders, musculoskeletal causes, pulmonary and respiratory causes, coronary heart disease, myocardial infarction, chest pain caused by trauma or cardiac syndrome X, cocaine misuse and Herpes zoster.Content: Chapter 1 Background to the Assessment and Management of Patients with Chest Pain ? E-BooksDeep Learning for Chest Radiographs Computer-Aided Classification

Deep Learning for Chest Radiographs Computer-Aided Classification
English | 2021 | ISBN: 0323901840 | 230 pages | pdf, epub | 99.87 MB
Deep Learning for Chest Radiographsenumerates different strategies implemented by the authors for designing an efficient convolution neural network-based computer-aided classification (CAC) system for binary classification of chest radiographs into "Normal" and "Pneumonia." Pneumonia is an infectious disease mostly caused by a bacteria or a virus. The prime targets of this infectious disease are children below the age of 5 and adults above the age of 65, mostly due to their poor immunity and lower rates of recovery. Globally, pneumonia has prevalent footprints and kills more children as compared to any other immunity-based disease, causing up to 15% of child deaths per year, especially in developing countries. Out of all the available imaging modalities, such as computed tomography, radiography or X-ray, magnetic resonance imaging, ultrasound, and so on, chest radiographs are most widely used for differential diagnosis between Normal and Pneumonia. In the CAC system designs implemented in this book, a total of 200 chest radiograph images consisting of 100 Normal images and 100 Pneumonia images have been used. These chest radiographs are augmented using geometric transformations, such as rotation, translation, and flipping, to increase the size of the dataset for efficient training of the Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs). A total of 12 experiments were conducted for the binary classification of chest radiographs into Normal and Pneumonia. It also includes in-depth implementation strategies of exhaustive experimentation carried out using transfer learning-based approaches with decision fusion, deep feature extraction, feature selection, feature dimensionality reduction, and machine learning-based classifiers for implementation of end-to-end CNN-based CAC system designs, lightweight CNN-based CAC system designs, and hybrid CAC system designs for chest radiographs.
This book is a valuable resource for academicians, researchers, clinicians, postgraduate and graduate students in medical imaging, CAC, computer-aided diagnosis, computer science and engineering, electrical and electronics engineering, biomedical engineering, bioinformatics, bioengineering, and professionals from the IT industry.
