Alien Rock The Rock 'n' Roll Extraterrestrial Connection
Free Download Alien Rock: The Rock 'n' Roll Extraterrestrial Connection By Michael C. Luckman
2005 | 352 Pages | ISBN: 074346673X | PDF | 31 MB
From Elvis to the Beatles and from Michael Jackson to Marilyn Manson, countless rock stars have claimed to have seen, communed with, been inspired by, and sometimes even descended from extraterrestrials. Now you can discover these stories for yourself in this illuminating, all-access pass to rock's unearthly encounters-some friendly, some frightening, and some frankly bizarre. From John Lennon spying a UFO from his penthouse in 1974 to Jimi Hendrix's claim that he was a messenger from "another place," there is no extraterrestrial tale neglected. With witty prose and in-depth research, Alien Rock provides a fascinating new perspective on the long, strange trip that is rock history, and suggests that, wherever the road takes us, we may not be traveling alone.

Alien Trespass 2009 1080p BluRay x265-RARBG

The story begins in 1957 in the star-filled skies above California's Mojave Desert. It is a special night for noted astronomer Ted Lewis, who is preparing a special dinner for his beautiful, adoring wife Lana to celebrate their wedding anniversary. In another part of town, Tammy, a waitress at small local diner with big plans for the future, looks out her window and is excited to see a shooting star, which she takes as a good sign for her dreams. But, what Dr. Lewis and Tammy assume is a shooting star, is really an alien spaceship. The fiery ball hurtles toward earth and crash-lands on a butte in the desert. The only witnesses are teens Dick and Penny who are necking in a nearby lover's lane. A tall, metallic alien named Urp emerges from the craft unharmed, alarmed to discover that the monstrous Ghota, who was also on board, has escaped. The menacing one-eyed creature's unquenchable appetite could mean the end of civilization as we know it. Urp is the only one who knows how to stop the hideous extra-terrestrial, but to do so he has to take over the body of Dr. Lewis and enlist the aid of Tammy, the only human in town willing to believe and trust in his mission. The local police - including Chief Dawson and Officer Vern - are confirmed skeptics and offer little help. Together, Urp and Tammy must hunt down the Ghota and neutralize it before it consumes all the local inhabitants and uses the human fuel to multiply and conquer the world!

E-BooksAlien Kind Foxes and Late Imperial Chinese Narrative

Alien Kind Foxes and Late Imperial Chinese Narrative
Alien Kind: Foxes and Late Imperial Chinese Narrative By Rania Huntington
2004 | 380 Pages | ISBN: 0674010949 | PDF | 84 MB
To discuss the supernatural in China is to talk of foxes and speak of ghosts. Ming and Qing China were well populated with foxes, shape-changing creatures who transgressed the boundaries of species, gender, and the metaphysical realm. In human form, foxes were both immoral succubi and good wives/good mothers, both tricksters and Confucian paragons. They were the most alien yet the most common of the strange creatures a human might encounter.Rania Huntington investigates a conception of one kind of alien and attempts to establish the boundaries of the human. As the most ambiguous alien in the late imperial Chinese imagination, the fox reveals which boundaries around the human and the ordinary were most frequently violated and, therefore, most jealously guarded. Each section of this book traces a particular boundary violated by the fox and examines how maneuvers across that boundary change over time: the narrative boundaries of genre and texts; domesticity and the outside world; chaos and order; the human and the non-human; class; gender; sexual relations; and the progression from animal to monster to transcendent. As middle creatures, foxes were morally ambivalent, endowed with superhuman but not quite divine powers; like humans, they occupied a middle space between the infernal and the celestial.

E-Books'An Alien Ideology' Cold War Perceptions of the Irish Republican Left

'An Alien Ideology' Cold War Perceptions of the Irish Republican Left
John Mulqueen, "'An Alien Ideology': Cold War Perceptions of the Irish Republican Left"
English | 2019 | ISBN: 1789620643 | PDF | pages: 292 | 2.2 mb
An 'Irish Cuba' - on Britain's doorstep? This book studies perceptions of the Soviets' influence over Irish revolutionaries during the Cold War. The Dublin authorities did not allow the Irish state's non-aligned status to prevent them joining the West's crusade against communism. Leading officials, such as Colonel Dan Bryan in G2, the Irish army intelligence directorate, argued that Ireland should assist the NATO powers. These officials believed Irish communists were directed by the British communist party, the CPGB.
