Microstructure Atlas of P22 Steel (2024)
Free Download Microstructure Atlas of P22 Steel by Rajat K. Roy , Anil K. Das , Avijit Kumar Metya , Avijit Mondal , Ashis Kumar Panda , M. Ghosh , Satish Chand , Sarmishtha Palit Sagar , Swapan Kumar Das , Amit Chhabra , Swaminathan Jaganathan , Amitava Mitra
English | EPUB (True) | 2023 | 117 Pages | ISBN : 9819901162 | 146.5 MB
This book highlights the qualitative and quantitative sequential changes in microstructure of P22 steel under various stress and temperature conditions. The P22 alloy is an established material used under elevated temperature and stress for the components of thermal power plants. Temperature and stress levels for laboratory experimentation have been selected based on the true operating condition of a boiler. This book describes both continuous as well as interrupted tests that were performed under given parameters. Subsequently, the microstructures, bulk hardness and NDE parameters (magnetic and non-linear ultrasonic) have been evaluated. For reliable data, the microstructures have been observed at different regions of creep exposed samples by different characterization techniques. This has been further followed by drawing correlation between specific features like precipitate size variation with creep strain / creep time and so on. Given the contents, this book will be a useful reference for researchers and professionals working in the area of materials especially in thermal power plants.

E-BooksMicrolocal Methods in Mathematical Physics and Global Analysis (2024)

Microlocal Methods in Mathematical Physics and Global Analysis (2024)
Free Download Microlocal Methods in Mathematical Physics and Global Analysis by Daniel Grieser, Stefan Teufel, Andras Vasy
English | PDF (True) | 2013 | 147 Pages | ISBN : 3034804652 | 1.5 MB
Microlocal analysis is a field of mathematics that was invented in the mid-20th century for the detailed investigation of problems from partial differential equations, which incorporated and made rigorous many ideas that originated in physics. Since then it has grown to a powerful machine which is used in global analysis, spectral theory, mathematical physics and other fields, and its further development is a lively area of current mathematical research. In this book extended abstracts of the conference 'Microlocal Methods in Mathematical Physics and Global Analysis', which was held at the University of Tübingen from the 14th to the 18th of June 2011, are collected.

E-BooksMicrobial Ecology

Microbial Ecology
Free Download Microbial Ecology By Larry L. Barton, Diana E. Northup
2011 | 440 Pages | ISBN: 0470048174 | PDF | 11 MB
This book covers the ecological activities of microbes in the biosphere with an emphasis on microbial interactions within their environments and communities In thirteen concise and timely chapters, Microbial Ecology presents a broad overview of this rapidly growing field, explaining the basic principles in an easy-to-follow manner. Using an integrative approach, it comprehensively covers traditional issues in ecology as well as cutting-edge content at the intersection of ecology, microbiology, environmental science and engineering, and molecular biology. Examining the microbial characteristics that enable microbes to grow in different environments, the book provides insights into relevant methodologies for characterization of microorganisms in the environment. The authors draw upon their extensive experience in teaching microbiology to address the latest hot-button topics in the field, such as: Ecology of microorganisms in natural and engineered environments Advances in molecular-based understanding of microbial phylogeny and interactions Microbially driven biogeochemical processes and interactions among microbial populations and communities Microbial activities in extreme or unusual environments Ecological studies pertaining to animal, plant, and insect microbiology Microbial processes and interactions associated with environmental pollution Designed for use in teaching, Microbial Ecology offers numerous special features to aid both students and instructors, including: Information boxes that highlight key microbial ecology issues "Microbial Spotlights" that focus on how prominent microbial ecologists became interested in microbial ecology Examples that illustrate the role of bacterial interaction with humans Exercises to promote critical thinking Selected reading lists Chapter summaries and review questions for class discussion Various microbial interactions and community structures are presented through examples and illustrations. Also included are mini case studies that address activities of microorganisms in specific environments, as well as a glossary and key words. All these features make this an ideal textbook for graduate or upper-level undergraduate students in biology, microbiology, ecology, or environmental science. It also serves as a highly useful reference for scientists and environmental professionals. PowerPoint slides of figures from the book are available for download at: ftp://ftp.wiley.com/public/sci_tech_med/microbial_ecology

Meta Television A History of US Popular Television's Self–Awareness
Free Download Meta Television: A History of US Popular Television's Self-Awareness
English | 2024 | ISBN: 1032366346 | 165 Pages | PDF (True) | 3 MB
The idea of metatextuality is frequently framed as a recent television development and often paired with the idea that it represents genre exhaustion. US television, however, with its early "live" performances and set-bound sitcoms, always suggested an element of self-awareness that easily shaded into metatextuality even in its earliest days. Meta Television thus traces the general history of US television's metatextuality throughout television's history, arguing that TV's self-awareness is nothing new-and certainly not evidence of a period of aesthetic exhaustion-but instead is woven into both its past and present practice, elucidated through case studies featuring series from the 1970s to the present day-many of which have not been critically analyzed before-and the various ways they deploy metatext to both construct and deconstruct their narratives. Further, Meta Television asserts that this re- and de-construction of narrative and production isn't just a reward to the savvy and/or knowledgeable viewer (or consumer), but seeks to make broader points about the media we consume-and how we consume it.
