E-BooksTheory of Electrostatic Waves in Hyperbolic Metamaterials

Theory of Electrostatic Waves in Hyperbolic Metamaterials
Free Download Theory of Electrostatic Waves in Hyperbolic Metamaterials by Afshin Moradi
English | PDF EPUB (True) | 2023 | 239 Pages | ISBN : 3031485955 | 54.8 MB
This book covers electrostatic properties of hyperbolic metamaterials (HMMs), a fascinating class of metamaterials which combine dielectric and metal components. Due to the hyperbolic topology of the isofrequency surface in HMMs, the so-called resonance cone direction exists, and as a result, propagation of quasi-electrostatic waves, or more commonly, electrostatic waves close to the resonance cone with large wave vectors, is possible. However, the investigation of electrostatic wave properties in HMMs is largely overlooked in most works on the subject, and the purpose of this monograph is to fill this gap. This book gives a thorough theoretical treatment of propagation, reflection, and refraction of electrostatic waves in HMMs of various dimensions and geometries. It will be of interest to students and researchers who work on electrical and optical properties of metamaterials.

E-BooksLectures on Hyperbolic Geometry

Lectures on Hyperbolic Geometry
Free Download Lectures on Hyperbolic Geometry by Riccardo Benedetti , Carlo Petronio
English | PDF | 1992 | 343 Pages | ISBN : 354055534X | 28.07 MB
In recent years hyperbolic geometry has been the object and the preparation for extensive study that has produced important and often amazing results and also opened up new questions. The book concerns the geometry of manifolds and in particular hyperbolic manifolds; its aim is to provide an exposition of some fundamental results, and to be as far as possible self-contained, complete, detailed and unified. Since it starts from the basics and it reaches recent developments of the theory, the book is mainly addressed to graduate-level students approaching research, but it will also be a helpful and ready-to-use tool to the mature researcher. After collecting some classical material about the geometry of the hyperbolic space and the Teichmüller space, the book centers on the two fundamental results: Mostow's rigidity theorem (of which a complete proof is given following Gromov and Thurston) and Margulis' lemma. These results form the basis for the study of the space of the hyperbolic manifolds in all dimensions (Chabauty and geometric topology); a unified exposition is given of Wang's theorem and the Jorgensen-Thurston theory.

Hyperbolic Geometry
Free Download Hyperbolic Geometry by James W. Anderson
English | PDF | 1999 | 239 Pages | ISBN : 1852331569 | 18.15 MB
The geometry of the hyperbolic plane has been an active and fascinating field of mathematical inquiry for most of the past two centuries. This book provides a self-contained introduction to the subject, providing the reader with a firm grasp of the concepts and techniques of this beautiful area of mathematics. Topics covered include the upper half-space model of the hyperbolic plane, Möbius transformations, the general Möbius group and the subgroup preserving path length in the upper half-space model, arc-length and distance, the Poincaré disc model, convex subsets of the hyperbolic plane, and the Gauss-Bonnet formula for the area of a hyperbolic polygon and its applications.

E-BooksHolomorphic Dynamics on Hyperbolic Riemann Surfaces

Holomorphic Dynamics on Hyperbolic Riemann Surfaces
Abate, "Holomorphic Dynamics on Hyperbolic Riemann Surfaces "
English | ISBN: 3110601052 | 2022 | 400 pages | PDF | 7 MB
This completely revised and updated edition of the one variable part of the author's classic older book "Iteration Theory of Holomorphic Maps on Taut Manifolds" presents the theory of holomorphic dynamical systems on hyperbolic Riemann surfaces from the very beginning of the subject up to the most recent developments. It is intended both as a reference book for the experts and as an accessible gateway to this beautiful theory for Master and Ph.D. students. It also contains extensive historical notes and references for further readings.

E-BooksHyperbolic Manifolds An Introduction in 2 and 3 Dimensions Ed 2

Hyperbolic Manifolds An Introduction in 2 and 3 Dimensions Ed 2
Albert Marden, "Hyperbolic Manifolds: An Introduction in 2 and 3 Dimensions Ed 2"
English | ISBN: 1107116740 | 2016 | 529 pages | PDF | 23 MB
Over the past three decades there has been a total revolution in the classic branch of mathematics called 3-dimensional topology, namely the discovery that most solid 3-dimensional shapes are hyperbolic 3-manifolds. This book introduces and explains hyperbolic geometry and hyperbolic 3- and 2-dimensional manifolds in the first two chapters and then goes on to develop the subject. The author discusses the profound discoveries of the astonishing features of these 3-manifolds, helping the reader to understand them without going into long, detailed formal proofs. The book is heavily illustrated with pictures, mostly in color, that help explain the manifold properties described in the text. Each chapter ends with a set of exercises and explorations that both challenge the reader to prove assertions made in the text, and suggest further topics to explore that bring additional insight. There is an extensive index and bibliography.
