E-BooksThe Esoteric Path An Introduction to the Hermetic Tradition

The Esoteric Path An Introduction to the Hermetic Tradition
Free Download The Esoteric Path: An Introduction to the Hermetic Tradition By Luc Benoist
2005 | 148 Pages | ISBN: 1597310131 | PDF | 1 MB
Traditional esoterism, though capable of the highest degree of elaboration, is based on a few first principles - Absolute Reality, hierarchical manifestation, the necessity for initiation, the centrality of the spiritual Heart, etc.-which can be stated simply. In The Esoteric Path, Luc Benoist does just this for the monumental writings of the great metaphysician Ren Gunon. If ever there was a 'primer' on traditional metaphysics and esoterism, one that does not dumb down its subject but rather opens a door to profound spiritual depths waiting to be explored, it is this book. The first section deals in a general way with metaphysical principles, their modes of transmission and the spiritual practices based upon them. The second presents the central principles of such Eastern traditions as Hinduism, Buddhism, Taoism, and Islam, and also various forms of Western Esoterism, including Eastern Orthodox Hesychasm, Freemasonry, Hermeticism, the Templars, Dante and the Fedeli d'Amore, Meister Eckhart and his 'school', etc. Far more than a bouquet of mystical teachings plucked from various sources, designed to titillate the reader's spiritual sensibilities, The Esoteric Path firmly situates that Path in its appropriate, traditional context, so that the seeker's first steps on the 'path to the Path' will be firm and confident, and point him or her in the right direction, away from the time- and soul-consuming attractions of those 'paths' that exhibit (in the author's words) 'the confusion between the spiritual and the psychic., the identification of the spiritual with what is most inferior in the psyche, the identification of religion with magic, totemism, and even sorcery, the popular dissemination of pseudo- or counter-initiatic rituals. A worthy companion to the biographical Ren Gunon and the Future of the West by Robin Waterfield and the Collected Works of Ren Gunon, also published by Sophia Perennis, The Esoteric Path will be of great value to scholars, seekers, and anyone searching for a clearer understanding of the great spiritual traditions. 'Luc Benoist is generally considered the most balanced and authentic exponent of Gunon's teaching. I know of no work in which true scholarship is combined so well with conciseness and comprehensiveness.' -Robin Waterfield

Esoteric Pure Land Buddhism
Free Download Aaron P. Proffitt, "Esoteric Pure Land Buddhism "
English | ISBN: 0824893611 | 2023 | 468 pages | PDF | 3 MB
What, if anything, is Esoteric Pure Land Buddhism? In 1224, the medieval Japanese scholar-monk Dōhan (1179-1252) composed The Compendium on Esoteric Mindfulness of Buddha (Himitsu nenbutsu shō), which begins with another seemingly simple question: Why is it that practitioners of mantra and meditation rely on the recitation of the name of the Buddha Amitābha? To answer this question, Dōhan explored diverse areas of study spanning the whole of the East Asian Mahayana Buddhist tradition. Although contemporary scholars often study Esoteric Buddhism and Pure Land Buddhism as if they were mutually exclusive and diametrically opposed schools of Buddhism, in the present volume Aaron Proffitt examines Dōhan's Compendium in the context of the eastward flow of Mahayana Buddhism from India to Japan and uncovers Mahayana Buddhists employing multiple, overlapping, so-called "esoteric" approaches along the path to awakening.

The Lost Science Esoteric Math and Astrology Techniques for the Market Trader
Free Download The Lost Science: Esoteric Math and Astrology Techniques for the Market Trader By M. G. Bucholtz
2013 | 134 Pages | ISBN: 1475993021 | PDF | 2 MB
Can the movements of Jupiter, Saturn and Uranus affect market cycles? Are prices swings on the Dow Jones Industrial Average and the S&P 500 a reflection of lunar and planetary placements? Many people are surprised to find that changes in price trends on the financial markets are a reflection of the changing psychological emotions of market participants. Our emotions are impacted by the varying gravitational pulls and energy levels in our planetary cosmos. Scientific techniques such as square root mathematics, the Golden Mean, the Golden Sequence and astrological phenomena like lunar events, planetary transits and planetary aspects can thus be used to identify short term changes in price trend and long term market cycles. In the early part of the 20th century many successful traders on Wall Street, including the venerable W.D. Gann and the mysterious Louise McWhirter understood that emotion was intimately linked to the forces of nature. They used these scientific techniques and astrological phenomena to predict changes to price trend and to profit from the markets. The Lost Science will acquaint you with an extensive range of astrological and mathematical phenomena. From the Golden Mean and Fibonacci Sequence through planetary transit lines and square roots to an examination of lunar astrology, planetary aspects and market cycles, the numerous illustrated examples in this book will assist you to deepen your understanding of the financial markets and make better informed and more timely trading and investing decisions.

E-BooksReincarnation in America An Esoteric History

Reincarnation in America An Esoteric History
Free Download Lee Irwin, "Reincarnation in America: An Esoteric History"
English | ISBN: 1498554075 | 2017 | 474 pages | EPUB | 920 KB
Reincarnation in America: An Esoteric History surveys the complex history of reincarnation theories across multiple fields of discourse in a pre-American context, ranging from early Greek traditions to Medieval Christian theories, Renaissance esotericism, and European Kabbalah, all of which had adherents that brought those theories to America. Rebirth theories are shown in all these groups to be highly complex and often disjunctive with mainstream religions even though members of conventional religions frequently affirm the possibility of rebirth. As a history of an idea, reincarnation theory is a current, vital belief pattern that cuts across a wide spectrum of social, cultural, and scientific domains in a long, complex history not reducible to any specific religious or theoretical explanation. This book is cross-disciplinary and multicultural, linking religious studies perspectives with science based research; it draws upon many distinct disciplines and avoids reduction of reincarnation to any specific theory. The underlying thesis is to demonstrate the complexity of reincarnation theories; what is unique is the historical overview and the gradual shift away from religious theories of rebirth to new theories that are therapeutic and trans-traditional.

The Esoteric Symbolism of Shamanic Trance and Altered States Phenomena
Free Download Ratka Relic, "The Esoteric Symbolism of Shamanic Trance and Altered States Phenomena"
English | ISBN: 1527549992 | 2020 | 150 pages | PDF | 891 KB
Bringing together extensive research on psychology, psychophysiology and phenomenology of the shamanic trance and altered states of consciousness, this book represents a cross-cultural approach to the study of shamanism. It discusses Buryat shamanism in Siberia in comparison with Buddhist and Hindu Yogic techniques, as well as other esoteric traditions. The phenomenon of the shamanic trance is here investigated from the esoteric point of view as a form of mystical or religious experience. The book explores the inner feelings and psychic states of the shaman during the trance, describing the inner psychic processes and referring to the systems of chakras and subtle channels in shamanism and classical Buddhist and Hindu yoga, as well as other cultural traditions. In addition to its adoption of psychoanalytic and transpersonal approaches, it also uses phenomenological methods in its investigation, representing works from scholars in Oriental studies, as they provide deeper insight into the research of shamanism and mystical experiences.

E-BooksAllegories of Desire Esoteric Literary Commentaries of Medieval Japan

Allegories of Desire Esoteric Literary Commentaries of Medieval Japan
Allegories of Desire: Esoteric Literary Commentaries of Medieval Japan By Susan Blakeley Klein
2003 | 378 Pages | ISBN: 0674009568 | PDF | 16 MB
One of the more intriguing developments within medieval Japanese literature is the incorporation into the teaching of waka poetry of the practices of initiation ceremonies and secret transmissions found in esoteric Buddhism. The main figure in this development was the obscure thirteenth-century poet Fujiwara Tameaki, grandson of the famous poet Fujiwara Teika and a priest in a tantric Buddhist sect. Tameaki's commentaries and teachings transformed secular texts such as the Tales of Ise and poetry anthologies such as the Kokin waka shu into complex allegories of Buddhist enlightenment. These commentaries were transmitted to his students during elaborate initiation ceremonies. In later periods, Tameaki's specific ideas fell out of vogue, but the habit of interpreting poetry allegorically continued. This book examines the contents of these commentaries as well as the qualities of the texts they addressed that lent themselves to an allegorical interpretation; the political, economic, and religious developments of the Kamakura period that encouraged the development of this method of interpretation; and the possible motives of the participants in this school of interpretation. Through analyses of six esoteric commentaries, Susan Blakeley Klein presents examples of this interpretive method and discusses its influence on subsequent texts, both elite and popular.

E-BooksThe New Age of Russia. Occult and Esoteric Dimensions

The New Age of Russia. Occult and Esoteric Dimensions
The New Age of Russia. Occult and Esoteric Dimensions By Michael Hagemeister, Birgit Menzel, Bernice Glatzer Rosenthal (eds.)
2012 | 448 Pages | ISBN: 3866881975 | PDF | 8 MB
Occult and esoteric ideas became deeply embedded in Russian culture long before the Bolshevik Revolution. After the Revolution, occult ideas were manifested in literature, the humanities and the sciences as well. Although the Soviet government discouraged and eventually prohibited metaphysical speculation, that same government used the Occult for its own purposes and even funded research on it. In Stalin's time, occultism disappeared from public view, but it revived clandestinely in the post-Stalin Thaw and became a truly popular phenomenon in post-Soviet Russia. From cosmism to shamanism, from space exploration to Kabbalah, from neo-paganism to science fiction, the field is wide. Everyone interested in the occult and esoteric will appreciate this book, because it documents their continued importance in Russia and raises new issues for research and discussion. www.new-age-of-russia.com
