E-BooksThe Theology of Renewal for His Church The Logic of Vatican II's Renewal in Paul VI's Encyclical Ecclesiam Suam and Its

The Theology of Renewal for His Church The Logic of Vatican II's Renewal in Paul VI's Encyclical Ecclesiam Suam and Its
Free Download Douglas G. Bushman, "The Theology of Renewal for His Church: The Logic of Vatican II's Renewal in Paul VI's Encyclical Ecclesiam Suam and Its"
English | ISBN: 1666731250 | 2024 | 402 pages | EPUB | 1024 KB
Almost sixty years after Vatican II, the question of its interpretation is as lively as ever. While numerous theologies of renewal are advanced, conspicuously absent is any serious erudition of the text taken by Paul VI, John Paul II, and Benedict XVI as the hermeneutical key to understanding the Council's goal and method, namely, Paul VI's encyclical, Ecclesiam Suam. This study corrects this inattention and proposes that Pope Paul's "logic of renewal" is so profoundly a dimension of divine revelation and of the Church's life that it is not just one theology of renewal among many, but the theology of renewal. It is thus the key to understanding the Council's authentic pastoral character. The "logic of renewal" sets personal, spiritual metanoia as the center path of renewal, preceded by the path of doctrinal penetration, which assures that renewal is faithful to God, and complemented by the path of reinvigorated mission, which is the fruit of conversion. As the first post-Christendom ecumenical council, Vatican II addressed the question: What does it mean to be the Church of Christ at this point in history? Its answer: Become what you are! Convert into a more perfect realization of your own mystery, vocation, and mission.

English | 2014 | ISBN: 0310433231 | EPUB | pages: 96 | 3.4 mb
WHAT IS THE POINT OF CHURCH? REALLY? Sacred Roots is for anyone questioning the value of church to their everyday life. 'Why should I invest myself in something I'm not sure does any good?' Many people today are asking this question about the church. Maybe you're asking it too. 'Does church matter?' is an important question. And to answer it, perhaps we need to go back to where it all began. The early church was a powerhouse of communal love, self-giving, and service. So how do we rediscover these sacred roots? And how do we recover the purpose of the church in all its beauty? Sacred Roots offers four personal and communal shifts critical to being the kind of church that transforms people--and renews the world. Sacred Roots is part of the FRAMES series - short yet meaningful reads on the top issues facing us in today's complex culture. A new kind of book brought to you by Barna Group, to help you read less, and know more. E-BooksBlack Clergy in the Church of England Towards a Sense of Belonging

Black Clergy in the Church of England Towards a Sense of Belonging
Free Download Ericcson T. Mapfumo, "Black Clergy in the Church of England: Towards a Sense of Belonging"
English | ISBN: 3031465059 | 2024 | 270 pages | PDF | 5 MB
This book explores the experiences of ordinands and Black clergy of the Church of England (CofE). An increasing number of Black ordinands (trainees) from African and Caribbean heritages are choosing a ministerial pathway in the Anglican Communion, which has necessitated insights which recognise what they have to bring from their place of origin. Accounts of some of their relationships in the Church of England have been documented and reports on the issues and challenges of institutionalised racism. Anecdotal reference also suggests that the CofE has become a White institution which has not supported its Black clergy in their ministry. The purpose of this book is to present the lived experience of Black clergy in the Church of England, while highlighting some of the challenges they face and to offer solutions to make the church anti-racist.
